Amanda & Austin | Wedding at Alturia Farm

July 31, 2021

Alturia Farm is a beautiful venue for an elegant wedding in a serene, country setting. And this wedding was an absolute delight to photograph for a sweet, romantic couple.

Amanda and Austin did an epic, mountaintop engagement shoot with me late last year. It was the first time I got to see them interactโ€ฆthese two are so rich in love for each other! And on their wedding day I got to see even more of that love shown to so many people around them. Amanda, her family and friends had the sweetest moments (many I’ll share below!) and Austin had a strong bond with his family and groomsmen. It was especially touching when Austin had his Best Man deliver a handwritten note to Amanda to read in the bridal suite that morning!

Amanda and her bridal party began the day in the Cottage Suite which was a perfect backdrop for some beautiful moments. And can I interject for a moment!โ€ฆ.Photographer’s and makeup artists love lots of natural light in the bride’s getting ready area…it makes for magical results!

Amanda’s mom and sister helped her with the final touches on her wedding dress. After sharing some hugs and a few almost-tear. She even got to share a first look with her dad. Her future mother in law joined them to give Amanda a special gift. And then the tears came!

A note from Ben:

I love to see guys taking an active role in their wedding day. Austin is a top tier guy and he doesn’t shy away from speeches! Austin took the time before the ceremony to toast and thank each one of his seven groomsmen for all that they had meant to him and for building him up to the man he was that day. Amid all the jokes that day and his smooth dance moves…It’s that moment of respect that impressed me the most about Austin!

Amanda and Austin chose to do a “First Touch” before their ceremony. After everyone was ready we found an enchanting place for them both to have a quiet moment. I love to give couples plenty of space during this part of the day. We use zoom lenses to make it seem like we are right there in the moment…but really Ben and I are far back doing our best to blend in the with the bushes.

The wedding ceremony was in the open air pavilion and was beautifully adorned with a backdrop of draping florals by Prince William Florist. Judging by the look on Austin’s face, he was overjoyed to be committing his life to Amanda!

And it was a joy for us to be there and photograph this part of their love story!
