If you are looking for an outdoor, waterfront wedding venue with a convenient city location. You should consider The Terrace Hotel in Lakeland Florida. The Terrace Hotel is a historic, downtown icon. It’s historic character has the 1920’s architecture with modern design. Many original, classic elements remain. The ceilings, tile floors, lights and the stunning windows all bring together a refined, elegant taste.
The highlight of the Terrace Hotel is it’s overlook and beautiful views of Lake Mirror. You can even plan a ceremony space at the Lake Mirror Loggia promenade through the Terrace Hotel. And nearby Kryger Park is also available for wedding day events.
This venue is ideal for brides who want an all-inclusive experience. An upscale, luxury event for your guests comes standard. And is perfect for the bride who wants to streamline her wedding planning. If you contact this hotel they have an informative wedding booklet. It has a floor plan for all their event spaces, menu options and prices. It’s everything you need in one place.
Upon first entering the Terrace Hotel you are greeted in the entry way with a classic sitting room. There’s a window nook, sitting area and large beautiful windows that are showcased through out the first floor.
Once you pass through the entry sitting area you’ll enter the Terrace Grille. It serves as up-scale restaurant most days, but can be used for rehearsal dinners and other events. From the intricate woodwork on the ceiling to the original stone floor this room is stunning. Passing through the grille you’ll arrive in the star attraction: the Lake Mirror room.
The main sight that greets you upon entering is a beautiful view of Lake Mirror. This room is a wedding favorite! Look at the photos below and you’ll understand why. Though most brides use this space for their ceremony it can also be used to accommodate small wedding receptions. The accent up-lighting colors can be adjusted to match your wedding palette.
Just a couple floors up you’ll find the Cypress Ballroom. This has a two entrances right off of a large hall with some a lounge seating in it. The most striking feature of the Cypress Ballroom is the Crystal chandeliers. They are nestled in a recessed gold ceiling. The neutral colored walls and gold ceilings are great for well lit flash portraits.
The Mezzanine bar is located just off the main hall loungue area outside the ball room. There’s a generous short hall that connect the two spaces that can be used for special touches. The Mezzanine Bar overlooks both the entry lounge and the grille below. It is open and bright and incorporates all the beautiful historical accents that makes this space truly unique.
The Terrace Hotel not only offers plenty of options for weddings and getting ready. The corner section of every floor offers a guest suite that can open to two additional guest rooms. The suites are beautifully decorated with a sleek, modern design. As a photographer, I love simple getting ready areas. It gives me the freedom to create timeless photos without distracting elements in the background. Another photographer favorite is the large beautiful windows for lots of natural window light! Make-up artists and photographers agree that lots of natural light makes for beautiful results! Even better, just outside these full beautiful windows is Lake Mirror.
Lake Mirror is one of the key reasons many brides love The Terrace Hotel. In addition to all the beautiful indoor wedding spaces you also can choose the parks surrounding the lake for your wedding. Many brides choose to have their ceremony or portraits overlooking Lake Mirror. Kryger Park and the Loggia are owned by the city, but can be reserved through the Terrace Hotel.
The Terrace Hotel is located in downtown Lakeland. During free time, guests are in walking distance to jogging paths, playgrounds, parks, amazing restaurants and ice cream! Not to mention a favorite Lakeland restaurant right in the lobby! They even have a parking lot for guests and a parking garage just across the street. Which is such a convenience in any downtown area.
I book a limited number of weddings each year. It's not uncommon for spring and fall weekends to book up early.
