Driving to the Piedmont Country club I had my wipers on full speed. I drove slowly so as not to miss my turn. My expectations were high as I made the long drive. This wedding was very exciting for me because it included travel. I love new places. Today I was in Northern Virginia, at a beautiful stone building on a lush green golf course. When I entered the bridal suite the Piedmont Club Megan was all smiles and excitement.
“Rain is good luck on your wedding day” I can’t tell you the number of times Megan heard this on her wedding day! She didn’t care about the rain though, it was her smile that lit up the room. Rain couldn’t damper this wedding day.
The thing that struck me most about Joel and Megan was how much they care about others. Even their professions speak to this, Joel is a nurse and Megan is a teacher. You could see that care in every facet of their wedding. In lieu of gifts they asked for donations to their favorite charities. They also asked for group photos with all the special people that were there to support them on their wedding day.
Speaking with Megan beforehand she had mentioned how important outdoor photos were to her. Knowing this I made sure to bring some clear umbrellas so she could still get her dream wedding photos. We climbed into a soaking wet golf cart and headed out onto the green. I love it when my couples trust me enough to do something like this. and yes, The pictures came out amazing! It was totally worth it!
